Many times we get confused, what are we craving for. Is it cup cakes or pudding, which will satisfy our cravings. So is the case with choosing a book to read. It’s difficult to choose which book to read on beginner level, for people who are to buy their first book to taste the joy of reading. First of all, you have to find which are the things, that makes you curious. The more the curiousity, the more easily you will find a book.
There are thousands of books available on every topic, be it self-development, self-motivation, novel, fiction, short stories, non-fiction etc. To develop a reading habit, start with reading magazines, some magazines also have short stories published on various topics in it. When you realise that yes, reading books is worth it, then buy a book on whichever topic you like, but it should be economical. So that, if you don’t like the book after reading it, you don’t regret, that you wasted too much on it. Build your collection of books slowly, by adding more titles of your choice.
Knowingly or unknowingly we have build reading habit, how? On daily basis we get active on social media scrolling, reading comments, posts, news, but don’t remember anything. Reading books is different, it makes us devoted towards what we are reading and helps in building concentration.
When we start a blog we decide a ‘niche’ for the blogs, likewise to choose what to read we have to decide the area of interest. In blogs we share information, on the other hand reading is more about polishing our skill and get informed. I believe, all the bloggers are good readers too, because, to give something, first of all, you must have that with you. I am talking about information.
I bought so many books and kids magazines for my son to develop reading habit in him. Now, he loves to read books of his choice. He himself decide what to read. When you decide the book, next question arise is, should I buy printed book, e-book or audio book? The answer to this question is, printed books. You can take membership of nearby library so that, you don’t have to buy books, you can read them for free or at very nominal membership. If you get old books near your place, that also is a good option.
You cannot develop reading habit initially with e-books or audio books and it’s true. I love the moment, I pick a book in my hand. I complete reading a book in parts, like, I read 2or 3 chapters and if find the book very interesting then one more chapter and grasp what is being said in it. For me grasping is more important than just reading. I personally feel that if you are reading something and not learning and implementing in life, then it’s of no use, it’s totally useless. You are wasting your time and energy.
