In India, many festivals are celebrated and Holi is one of them. It is festival of colours. All the festivals around the world, when celebrated, brings joy and happiness. Festivals means celebration and celebration means happiness. Holi is one of my favourite festivals. Colours is being applied on each other, water guns used, sweets exchanged, dance, so much enthusiasm around. Many use flowers to celebrate Holi, instead of colours, as, colours may damage skin if it contains chemicals. Holi is celebrated in the month of March every year.
So, if you visit India in the month of March, do enjoy this celebration of Holi and experience the happiness spread by the festival of colours.
Hope, this Holi brings colours of joy, peace and happiness in your life.
Holy books like Guru Granth Sahib ji, Bible, Gita, Quran Shriff, we all must have read them according to our religion. The teaching in all of them is the same, God is One. Let’s know more about them. The purpose to choose the holy books as a blog is to know, learn and share teachings of all the holy books. So that, everyone can relate to them and know that each and every holy book say the same thing. To me, HUMANITY IS THE BIGGESTRELIGION. If you show humanity towards fellow humans, then yes, you belong to the biggest religion.
Reading holy books cleanse our soul, like bathing cleanses our body. We bath daily, then why not read a holy book daily and cleanse our soul? It is source of positivity, which is needed in the morning to energise our soul whole day. Let us quickly see what are the teachings of all the holy books. The idea is, not to preach, but to share.

TEACHINGS OF QURAN SHARIFF
# Belief in angels
# Belief in holy book
# Belief in Allah
# Belief in Prophet
All the holy books have a spiritual message in it. It’s upto us which path we take in life. Being religious or spiritual is good but religions should not be used as weapon to harm others. I have seen unity in diversity in India but, also seen religion being used by political leaders as weapon to divide and rule. This should be stopped. It will stop when we raise our children as representative of humanity apart from their religion, whichever religion they belong to. I strongly believe that HUMANITY IS THE BIGGEST RELIGION, though I born in a Sikh family.
World need more kindness, there are so many issues in the world to be taken care of that if we will not focus on that, our children will suffer afterwards. To give them better future, let’s join hands to invest in their future, in providing education, health services, better infrastructure, green energy, climate change. All the people who are providing support to war hit areas of Ukraine are appreciable. Like, Khalsa Aid, United Sikhs, Hemkunt Foundation, WHO and many more.
What we can do is, at least raise our child well, to make world a better place to live. We don’t think to harm, but, lend a helping hand as and when needed.
Many times we get confused, what are we craving for. Is it cup cakes or pudding, which will satisfy our cravings. So is the case with choosing a book to read. It’s difficult to choose which book to read on beginner level, for people who are to buy their first book to taste the joy of reading. First of all, you have to find which are the things, that makes you curious. The more the curiousity, the more easily you will find a book.
There are thousands of books available on every topic, be it self-development, self-motivation, novel, fiction, short stories, non-fiction etc. To develop a reading habit, start with reading magazines, some magazines also have short stories published on various topics in it. When you realise that yes, reading books is worth it, then buy a book on whichever topic you like, but it should be economical. So that, if you don’t like the book after reading it, you don’t regret, that you wasted too much on it. Build your collection of books slowly, by adding more titles of your choice.
Knowingly or unknowingly we have build reading habit, how? On daily basis we get active on social media scrolling, reading comments, posts, news, but don’t remember anything. Reading books is different, it makes us devoted towards what we are reading and helps in building concentration.
When we start a blog we decide a ‘niche’ for the blogs, likewise to choose what to read we have to decide the area of interest. In blogs we share information, on the other hand reading is more about polishing our skill and get informed. I believe, all the bloggers are good readers too, because, to give something, first of all, you must have that with you. I am talking about information.
I bought so many books and kids magazines for my son to develop reading habit in him. Now, he loves to read books of his choice. He himself decide what to read. When you decide the book, next question arise is, should I buy printed book, e-book or audio book? The answer to this question is, printed books. You can take membership of nearby library so that, you don’t have to buy books, you can read them for free or at very nominal membership. If you get old books near your place, that also is a good option.
You cannot develop reading habit initially with e-books or audio books and it’s true. I love the moment, I pick a book in my hand. I complete reading a book in parts, like, I read 2or 3 chapters and if find the book very interesting then one more chapter and grasp what is being said in it. For me grasping is more important than just reading. I personally feel that if you are reading something and not learning and implementing in life, then it’s of no use, it’s totally useless. You are wasting your time and energy.
‘Happiness is in small things youdo, not in big things you plan‘.
Books give immense pleasure. To enjoy the delight, grab your copy of happiness today.
Today we will know more about the world of e-books and audio-books. The advantages and disadvantages of both of them. So, without wasting time, let’s begin to explore the wonderful world of e-books and audio-books. You must have heard about Kindle app, it’s the most popular app for e-books lovers. While learning more about the e-books app, I came to know about one very interesting app called Libby. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.overdrive.mobile.android.libby.
In this app you can borrow books from libraries in which you are a member. The condition to borrow a book is, you must have membership of any library. If you don’t have membership of any library, it will redirect to library near you and you can fill membership form there. Take membership and you are all set to use Libby. It’s rightly said ‘ you can’tpour from empty cup ‘ . While sharing valuable information, we also become knowledgeable ourselves.
Now, let’s talk about some advantages ofe-books.
# You can purchase, download and start reading them within minutes, without going anywhere.
# No trees are cut to manufacture paper, hence, e-books save trees too.
# E-books takes less space, you don’t need space to keep books as in case of printed books.
# E-books are portable. You can carry e-books anywhere without worrying about the weight.
# Shareable Contents
# Purchasing 3 e-books per month for four years produces roughly 168 kilograms of CO2 throughout Kindle’s lifecycle, compared to the estimated 1,074 kilograms CO2 produced by the same number of printed books.
Audiobooks
Now let’s talk a little bit about audiobooks. There are many app available like Audible which provide access to audiobooks.
Is it better to read books or audiobooks?
While listening to an audiobook may help more with empathy and making the story come alive but reading is a better bet for retaining the information. An audiobook is more expensive than eBook version of same book.
Are print books dying?
No, Print books aren’t dying- they are evolving, offering more accessible ways for people to enjoy them.
We have seen how technology have taken over printed books. Still there are benefits to read a printed book. Let’s see what they are.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the women around the world. We are daughters, sisters, wife, mothers, grand-mothers. We perform our responsibilities and duties well. We are not less than anyone. Always celebrate the beauty of womanhood. On 8th March, every year we celebrate womanhood.
You may have come across so many inspiring women in your life. There is so much to learn from them. The women who inspire me the most are the ones who NEVER GIVE UP, who uplift other women. Each one of us have our own stories, our own journey. I will appreciate, if you comment an inspiring story or quote on this women’s day.
Books are always close to our heart. I am not talking about academic books which we read or have to read to attain an educational qualification. It is mandatory for us to learn from them. I am talking about the books which we choose to read. Be it fiction, non-fiction, inspirational, self- motivational, novels. We have our favourite author which influence us the most. The more we read their creation the more we inclined towards them.
Today I will throw some light on one of my favourite author RUJUTA DIWEKAR. She is nutritionist by profession and also write books. The way she express and explain certain things not only inspire me but also makes me laugh most of the time. She writes on healthy lifestyle and how we can attain it without much of hassle.
Books makes me happy when ever I see one. It makes me curious to know, what is in store it. I remember the time when we were kids, we used to buy old books from books market in Old Delhi, INDIA. We keep on searching for good books in huge collection at very economical prices. Good books was one reason for happiness and at economical prices was another. Then we come home with excitement of what we have bought today. In free time I use to read those books. Now we have libraries with so many books, libraries were present earlier also but in limited number. You have to take membership of the library and you are eligible to enter the library, pick a book, read and go.
Reading books makes you more calm. When you read a book, you take time to understand what is being written. Every word, punctuation, everything is being read with concentration. Without making noise or disturbing others around you. You have also seen, that silence is maintained in libraries too. Books takes us to a different world, where we forget our own problems, stress, and spend some quality time with ourselves. It’s rightly said ‘ BOOKS ARE OUR TRUE FRIEND‘.
When my son was a kid I introduce him whole world of educative books. It was collection of I think 50 above books and two activity packs plus 20 talking books. This whole package was from GROLIER and it cost INR 50k. It’s good to cultivate reading habit, along with it we can save trees by reading old books, e-books, if you have collection of so many books you can start a small library in your area. You can donate to less privileged children, you can give it to a library to increase their collection. By doing so you will definately contribute not only towards educating the society but also saving precious trees. Always remember, ‘It’s good to plant atree but more impactful to save a tree’.
I know I am catering to the right people, who already loves reading. This is the right platform to say things, to like-minded audience.
Books are knowledge powerhouse. They never let you feel lonely. Books are true and reliable friend. BOOKS is the theme for the month of March. We will learn and know benefits of reading books, various books and their reviews, and much more. So, fasten your seat belts once again for exciting journey via books.
There many places where you can buy books and read them, many libraries available with large collection of books. E-books are available online to save paper and trees. Now you can also listen to the books through apps like AUDIBLE.
