On last Saturday, I visited the most awaited fair, WORLD BOOK FAIR, 2023 in New Delhi, India. It was the first day of the fair. The fair is still on, till 5th March 2023. Timings : 11 am to 8 pm IST. Before going there, me and my son both were super excited because we both are fond of books. The fair entry started from 11 am and book lovers like us were rushing towards the entry gate after getting the entry ticket from ticket counter which was in nearby metro station. The price of a ticket was Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children.
After buying ticket we also headed towards entry gate where our tickets were scanned and we were allowed to enter the fair. A free shuttle service was provided by the organisers to drop book lovers to nearby book fair hall. We were so amazed to see people’s happiness and enthusiasm for the world book fair in New Delhi. It is organised after three long years, so you can imagine how eager everyone was on the very first day. Book lovers were on time, they were present at the entry gate by 11:30 am.
We entered a hall and saw so much rush on each and every stall. We also went to so many stalls and bought our favourite books. There was a special stall of France as France was the guest country this year. There was cafe inside that stall and we sat there and enjoyed our coffee and snacks. Two artist were drawing something on white board one was playing drums and enjoying music. Books in French language was available in the stall.
Time passed so quickly. We were so happy that we came in fair. It was a great experience. My son visited the very first time and he too enjoyed the fair. We were walking from one stall to another and realise that it’s lunch time now. We went to food court and had some food and again we were ready to explore more stalls. We all buy books online and it’s convenient too but going to a book fair and meeting like minded people is something which can only be experienced by going there. So, if you are in Delhi, do visit the fair it’s worth it and highly recommended place by me.
Books are happiness, read them, explore them. Coffee shops, book shops are my happy place. Which is your happy place? Eager to know.
