Here comes the exam time. All are stressed, the child who has to appear for exam and the entire family. Talking about only EXAM,EXAM AND EXAM. Here comes a phone call from a relative inviting to a birthday party, answer is, we can’t come my son has exam the next day. Another invitation for a wedding, again the same answer, sorry we can’t come our daughter has to appear for an important exam. Sometimes it feels like it’s not our child’s exam but parent’s exam also.
Children are so busy in studing day and night, what they only want from us as parents is to understand them and support them. With or without parent’s support child will have to appear in either situation but it affects their mental health. With the support of parents he/she will confidently appear in which ever exam he/she has to face. Be it any competition or anything. Child feel protected, he feels he can and will get good marks not because he has studied well but parents approch is always positive towards him.
Lucky are those parents who have studious child. You will never listen any complain from teachers about them, rather you will always being praised for how well you have raised your child. I am blessed and lucky to be a mother of one. Normally parents scold their children to study and don’t play whole day or watch T.V. whole day but with me the story is different. I have to tell my child to take a break in between your studies, watch T.V. , play for sometime, give rest to your mind, sleep for one hour and so on.
Thank you God for blessing me with a diamond(my son). Now here I have so much in my mind that it inspire me to write a blog. Children are so much in pressure from the society to perform in every field and be number 1 that they don’t have time for other activities, they don’t have time to socialize. Education system should be in such a way that not only does it cater to theoretical knowledge but also cater to child’s physical and mental growth in each stage of schooling. After school when a child enters college he should not be scared, he should be confident, he should talk about his dreams and passion with everyone.
Our country’s future are our children. The more we infuse good habits in them the more our country will flourish. Exams are most stressful time of the year, for students as well as for parents. There are 5 rules to follow, to be focused and stress-free at the time of exam for students.
1. Make a schedule, what you will complete in a day. Like, if you have to study science, note down day and date that on this particular day I will complete 2 chapters of science or 1 chapter of maths.
2. Make points- write down important points in your notebook and while revising the chapter just go through those magical points.
3. Take short breaks- After every 2 hour of studies take a 15 min break. Relax your mind. Get up from chair and walk for a while.
4. Early to bed, early to rise- wake up early in morning if you want to study more and sleep by 10 pm at night.
5. Start your day with a short prayer. It will calm your mind.
Five rules for parents at the time of exam.
1. Start your day with prayer, it will calm your mind and children will also pray when they see you praying.
2. Go to your child’s room and ask whether he needs anything after every 2 hours. It will make them feel loved and they may take a short break.
3. Keep the home’s atmosphere light. Be with your child, crack some joke or talk something funny so that he can forget all the worries and stress. It will make you also light.
4. Play some good music while your child takes a break.
5. Feed them well
All the best to all the students and parents who are appearing for any exam. May all your wishes be fulfilled.
Be happy and stay safe.
