Online Shopping

Today’s blog is all about online shopping. The pros and cons of online shopping. How it affects our well-being and much more. So tighten your seat belts if your weakness is shopping, ‘online shopping’.

We all are active online daily, some for many hours, some for few hours, some for fun, some for jobs and business and so on. We can’t imagine our life without internet. People do online shopping, its integral part of their life. Before emergence of covid, online shopping was there, but people also went to malls, and local markets to buy things. But after lockdown all around the world, online shopping has become medium to buy things.

Shopping sites lure customers into buying whatever they want to sell. Attract lot of customers, who wouldn’t require those items. Its just a matter of some clicks and the things bought, comes to our home as early as possible, depends upon service. The convenience or advantages of online shopping are:

  • Saves time and effort
  • Good discounts/ lower prices
  • Get detailed information about the product
  • We can compare various models/brands
  • Wide range of products

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of online shopping:

  • Delay in delivery
  • You cannot touch product physically
  • Frauds in online shopping
  • Buy things which we don’t need.

Sale! Sale! Sale!

We know that it is pretty tempting to add everything to our cart during sale season. But what if that sale is available throughout the year in different forms? It is what most online shopping websites do. I am sure that those coupon codes and ‘Buy 1, Get 1’ deals might attract us most, but we shouldn’t be buying just because it is on sale.

Emotional Spending

Because of want to distract themselves, from whatever people are currently feeling, be it, sadness, boredom, depression, anger or simply because they have nothing to do, they shop online. Online shopping should not act as an activity that elevates our mood from time to time.

Online Shopping Addiction

In today’s times, people indulge themselves in scrolling through online shopping sites as a leisure activity and this activity can slowly transcends into an addiction. Make sure that your online shopping habit in itself does not change into a bad habit or an addiction.

Discounts and offers are available throughout the year so don’t become a trap of these shopping sites. Just make list of things to buy, and buy when you need it, and not want it just because it’s on sale.
